Ushahidi's is a nonprofit. Our mission is to help marginalized people raise their voice and get the support they need. Our software has been deployed in response to Hurricane Sandy, global electoral violence, and the Haiti and Nepal earthquakes. Our tools increase the speed and effectiveness of emergency response.
We are supported by Omidyar Network, CISCO, Ford Foundation, Google.org, Humanity United, MacArthur Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, and Knight Foundation among others to build open source software to help people report on elections, crisis response, and human rights. Funds collected go to supporting open source development and software for grassroots organizations.
